Helping you make sense of things.
Individual & couples therapy in Philadelphia, PA.

I believe you are the
expert in living your life.
I begin therapy with a nuanced consideration of what it means to be you—to inhabit a specific body, in a specific context, in a specific culture, and in particular relationships.
Every problem points to something important.
Together, we'll explore what's there and find a way to make sense of the underlying meanings and emotions. No matter how difficult, you can count on me to accompany you wherever you need to go.

Nothing is off the table.
In order to establish the kind of reciprocal trust that facilitates deep change, I am comfortable sharing from my own experience. And that goes for feedback too. I don't always get it right and I cherish the opportunity to work through anything I might've missed.
Ultimately, my job is to
help you leave me.
(Or to keep finding new reasons to stay). My intention is to empower you with whatever you're needing to step forward independently.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
